On February 10, 2022, the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture hosted an event on the topic “Construction. Innovations. Investments. Technologies” as part of the IV International scientific and practical online conference “Current problems, priority directions and strategies for the development of Ukraine.”

A number of important issues in the field of construction, from ecology to investment, were raised at the conference.

In particular, the initiative of Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko to create a municipal bank of Kyiv as a possible instrument for Kyivans was actively discussed. Lending for buying housing or for other needs of the capital’s residents and other possibilities of using the bank’s instruments.

For many of those present, the speech by the deputy head of the State Fund for Promoting Youth Housing Construction on financing young people’s purchase of their own housing with state support was particularly relevant. An analysis of the implementation of programs, including those providing housing for internally displaced persons.

Also, the speech by the deputy chairman of the management board of JSC “IBOX BANK” on banking instruments and their implementation was quite informative and substantive, because every developer understands that without financial support, the construction of large projects is rather limited.

From financial instruments, the speakers moved on to scientific and practical presentations aimed at improving the Ukrainian construction industry and raising it to the level of modern building standards and trends.

The design of high-tech facilities using BIM technology, the smart city, the role of sun protection in the energy saving of buildings, noise and substance pollution of the city, drainage of storm runoff, green construction and the prospects of using alternative materials for road construction – and this is only part of the presentations given at the conference.

A sociological survey among creative industry professionals was presented on how they see their housing and what parameters it should meet. The aim of the survey is to show developers the direction and what they should pay attention to during design.

All guests had the opportunity to communicate directly with the speakers, ask questions and receive substantive answers, both during the presentations themselves and during the “coffee break.”

The event was also attended by: members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, local council members, representatives of ministries and public organizations, developers, representatives of investment companies and other interested persons.
