Studies by the Kyiv School of Economics and USAID show that 90% of the building materials needed to rebuild Ukraine can be produced locally. At the same time, the director of Kovlar Group, the largest Ukrainian manufacturer of fire-retardant materials, which makes Ammokote products, said that the combined capacity of domestic fire-retardant producers significantly exceeds the demand expected during reconstruction.
“As of today, fire-retardant materials worth about UAH 1 billion are needed to rebuild destroyed facilities,” said Kostiantyn Kalafat. “At the same time, using locally produced goods will not only allow Ukraine's construction industry to develop and create new jobs, but will also help investors save significantly, since Ukrainian products are much cheaper than imported analogues.”
Founded in 2015, “Kovlar Group” is the largest Ukrainian manufacturer of fire protection, holding about 60% of Ukraine's fire-retardant materials market and offering more than 20 product names under the Ammokote trademark.
