On July 30, the Ukrainian Investment Congress 2026 took place at the Parkovyi exhibition centre in Kyiv — one of the largest business events of the year, under the theme “Me, you, society: investing in the country's future.” According to the organisers, the event brought together more than 2,000 participants: government representatives, investors, developers, architects and heads of the country's leading companies.
Among the invited speakers was Yevhen Komarov, deputy head of the Veterans Institute “Architecture of Resilience”. He spoke in the panel discussion “Small business, big space: the design of street retail and public spaces”.
The panellists spoke about the main thing: when planning urban spaces, veterans must not be forgotten. They need a barrier-free, accessible environment, support for their own businesses and a real opportunity to return to active life in the community.
Once again it became clear: the reconstruction of Ukraine is not only about large infrastructure projects, but also about quality urban space where small businesses can grow, communities find it more comfortable to live and investment really works for people.
The Veterans Institute takes part in such forums not by chance — it is part of systematic work to make barrier-free accessibility an integral part of a responsible postwar reconstruction.
We thank the organisers for the invitation and the space for dialogue! 🇺🇦
