President of Serbia's chamber of commerce and industry: Serbian business wants to join Ukraine's reconstruction

Serbian companies are interested in and have the potential to take part in Ukraine's postwar reconstruction, in particular in transport infrastructure, energy, residential construction and industrial facilities, said Marko Čadež, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.

“After the war ends, Ukraine will become the largest construction site in Europe, and Serbian companies are interested in and have the potential to take part in rebuilding transport infrastructure, energy and residential facilities, as well as industrial enterprises,” Čadež said in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

According to him, the potential for cooperation covers construction companies, producers of building materials, producers of transformers for the energy sector, producers of agricultural machinery, as well as companies that have technologies for rebuilding and modernizing industry.

Čadež recalled that the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, had already declared Serbia's readiness to take part in Ukraine's postwar reconstruction, in particular in rebuilding one or two cities or a small region.

“Through contacts with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the Embassy of Ukraine in Belgrade, Serbian entrepreneurs are already expressing their readiness to get involved by supplying their products, for example, for the needs of the energy sector,” noted the president of the Serbian chamber.
