“Specifically for the logistics terminal, specialists of the company Rauta, the exclusive importer of Ruukki sandwich panels to Ukraine, developed a design for enclosing structures with unique joints that provide maximum airtightness and significant cost savings during the operation of the facility,” said Rauta director Andrii Ozeichuk.
As reported, in spring 2024 LLC “Novus Ukraine”, which manages the Novus chain of hypermarkets and supermarkets, launched the NOVUS Logistics Center in Kyiv, built according to the BREEAM principles of green construction with credit funds from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The complex was BREEAM-certified at the design stage; now, after commissioning, the company is preparing the facility to receive the international BREEAM certificate for new buildings, with a rating of Good.
The NOVUS Logistics Center, with an area of over 50 thousand sq. m and a height of 15 m, is designed for 5.2 thousand pallet places and has 18 temperature zones – from -30 to +24 degrees Celsius.
According to Kostiantyn Parshyn, head of the NOVUS operational logistics department, thanks to the use of Ruukki sandwich panels, the temperature inside the main premises in winter does not fall below the set 15 degrees, and in summer it does not rise above 20 degrees.
The release stresses that the use of Ruukki Energy sandwich panels ensured building airtightness of up to q50 = 0.01 m3/h∙m2 and a thermal resistance of the structures of up to R = 7.47 (m2∙K)/W, which are the best indicators for cold-storage warehouses.
