Ukrainian veterans will be able to undergo humanitarian demining training in Serbia, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs has reported.
“The training will give war veterans knowledge of the finer points of demining, familiarization with national mine action standards, and so on. During the training, war veterans will be able to obtain the necessary skills and certification, which will open up new career opportunities for them,” the ministry said in a statement following the meeting of deputy minister Yuliia Kyrylova with the Ambassador of Serbia to Ukraine, Andon Sapundzhi, and representatives of the Serbian Mine Action Center.
It is noted that, at the same time, such an initiative will help strengthen the national demining system, since experienced specialists will be able to work on the safety of the liberated territories.
In addition, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Serbian Mine Action Center agreed to further develop cooperation in training demining specialists among war veterans.
