On 30 October 2026, at its meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution “On Amendments to the Procedure for Implementing the Project, Jointly with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, on Providing Support to Certain Categories of Persons Who Have Completely or Partially Lost Their Sight While Defending the Independence, Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity of Ukraine”.
This Resolution extends until 1 December 2027 the period of implementation of Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 674 of 27 May 2026 “On Approving the Procedure for Implementing the Project, Jointly with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, on Providing Support to Certain Categories of Persons Who Have Completely or Partially Lost Their Sight While Defending the Independence, Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity of Ukraine”.
Extending the period for providing support in the form of a one-off cash payment to war veterans for the purchase of household appliances will make it possible for a larger number of recipients (persons who have completely or partially lost their sight while defending the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine) to receive such support, for whom the payment has already been approved from the resources of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.
Implementation of the project will help ensure proper social support for veterans who lost their sight defending our country. The draft act was developed to create conditions in which every Defender of Ukraine who has partially or completely lost their sight can feel as independent as possible in everyday life, which is critically important for their comprehensive rehabilitation and return to an active life.
