III National Tourism Summit

On November 28, the III National Tourism Summit will be held in Lviv, at EMILY RESORT.

The event, launched by the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine as a platform for discussing current issues and challenges facing the industry, has in almost two years of its existence grown into an international event attended by leading world experts in the tourism sector.

This time the speakers of the III National Tourism Summit will be representatives of UN Tourism (the World Tourism Organization of the UN): Beka Dzhakeli, Director for External Relations, and Cordula Wohlmuther, Director for the European Region.

Thanks to the event agency Global Events, which approached DART with an initiative to organize the event and involve business representatives, the III National Tourism Summit will become one of the largest events of the year in Ukraine's tourism sector

Together with representatives of the Office of the President, heads of the relevant structural units of city councils and regional state administrations, investors and leading experts of Ukraine's tourism industry, the foreign guests will discuss Ukraine's integration into the European tourism space, which will take into account the modern challenges now facing global tourism. Namely: crisis management, adaptation to climate change, balanced economic growth, preservation of cultural heritage and the environment, and support for communities.

In addition to panel discussions, the III National Tourism Summit will feature 8 TED-style talks. Leading experts, among them Beka Dzhakeli, Director for External Relations of UN Tourism; Mariana Oleskiv, Head of the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine; Andrii Fedoriv, founder of FEDORIV GROUP, marketer and investor; Volodymyr Harazd, CEO of GORO Development, who will present the new GORO resort in Slavske; István Újhelyi, UN Tourism ambassador and founder of Capital European Affairs; and others, will speak about the importance of the tourism sector for economic growth in the regions, preserving authenticity and cultural traditions, and how to achieve a balance between economic growth, social development and environmental protection.

Anula Halievska, coordinator of the certification of the Bukovel resort under the international programs “Green Destination,” “Green Key” and “Green Globe,” will present the case of creating Ukraine's first certified tourist destination for sustainable development and responsible tourism, and will moderate a discussion of the problems of implementing sustainable development standards in Ukraine and the world.

The charitable purpose of the event is to raise resources for the “Honor” company of the Da Vinci Wolves battalion and for the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo.
