Experts club hosted the final seminar and tasting of Ukrainian wine and vintage drinks

This past Friday, at the think tank “Experts club” the final tasting seminar of this year for Ukrainian wine and vintage drinks took place. Once again, the event brought together in one hall representatives of Ukraine's winemaking industry, professional tasters, retail experts and media representatives.

Maksym Urakin, founder of Experts club, opened the event, drawing attention to the importance of reviving and developing the culture of drinking wine and vintage drinks in Ukraine.

“The Ukrainian wines presented at today's tasting are limited series that have not yet been presented to the general public but have already been recognized at both Ukrainian and international competitions. Our events are held to support the development of domestic winemaking and the production of strong spirits, which will make it possible to return to Ukrainian-made products the leading positions, primarily in the domestic market, that, unfortunately, were lost in recent years.”, Urakin noted.

The founder of Experts club also stressed that a systematic approach to supporting Ukrainian producers will also lead to their entry into foreign markets and will help the development of our economy as a whole.

For his part, Andrii Strilets, general manager of the Private Joint-Stock Company “Kniazia Trubetskoho”, stressed that despite the destruction his winery suffered as a result of hostilities, production continues to revive and develop.

“The wine varieties presented at today's event are the new limited collections of 2022. And this is a sign that our winery is resuming production and working on expanding its range. We decided to change the name of our brand to Stoic Ukrainian winery, because it is meant to symbolize Ukraine's resilience in these difficult times,” Strilets noted.

Serhii Parkhomchuk, marketing director of the Private Joint-Stock Company “Kniazia Trubetskoho”, spoke about the company's new projects.

“Dnipro Hills is a new Ukrainian wine created in cooperation between STOIC Ukrainian winery and the winery ‘Chateau Pinot’. At a critical moment in the 125-year history of our winery, ‘Chateau Pinot’ gave us invaluable support.

Representatives of an industry that is new for Ukraine – the production of craft distilled spirits – Oleksandr and Lesia Slobodian, presented their own products, including whisky, calvados and grappa made in Ukraine. CraftSAD is a family distillery with a unique history and philosophy, created by the Slobodian couple. Even after losing their laboratory and home during the war, they did not give up but found a way to continue creating unique signature drinks for their admirers. The basis of their work lies in two key principles: the use of local raw materials (grain, berries, fruit) and the priority of quality over quantity. This gives CraftSAD the ability to produce goods that preserve the unique aroma and taste of natural ingredients and guarantee the consistency of every batch.

“The event features signature drinks already loved by many. ‘Zapechena’ is based on an old Cossack recipe, a spiced honey compote that first surprises and then impresses with its richness of flavors. The refined whiskies and calvados aged for over 3 years are truly valuable drinks, of which very few remain after the destruction of the house,” said Lesia Slobodian.

Overall, the event highlighted the importance of supporting Ukrainian producers of wine and spirits and helped promote unique brands of domestically produced alcohol.
